The Teen Titans have a long and storied history in the DC Universe, and while a prototypical version of the team turned up in issue #54, the youthful group made its fully- edged debut here in a tale of generational conflict during a “Teen Day” in Midville. Temporary teen “Mayor” Tommy Holmes calls upon Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, and Aqualad to save the town from an attack by the enormous and segmented Separated Man.
While the new team of heroes struggle to defeat different parts of the Separated Man’s bizarre body – his grasping hand, his stomping feet, his re-crying eye – they also learn that Tommy’s father, Professor Brian Holmes, is responsible for creating the monster while attempting to transform himself into a huge molecule. Holmes has an anti-serum that will stop the Separated Man, but only if it’s injected into the marauder’s heart. Will they find the organ in time?
