The Startling Story of “Cameras in the Clouds.”

ACTION COMICS Vol.1, No.111, August 1947;  Cover Art:  John Sikela;  Penciler:  John Sikela;  Inker:  John Sikela

In a tribute to the cameramen that capture history for newsreels,  this issue finds two former military photographers going into business for themselves with the use of cutting-edge technology:  a disguised blimp!  Lois is suspicious of the deceptive dirigible right away,  and Superman begrudgingly investigates,  only to discover the ace reporter is right.  When the GI reporters are subsequently sabotaged by an evil rival newsreel company,  the Man of Steel races against light and time to ensure they get their timely news footage.

Next,  it’s time to foil the plans of the conniving crooks as they plan to blow up a public monument and create their own devastating news.  Superman “scoops” them, ending their underhanded escapades.  The GIs, finally free to film unopposed,  will soon thrive thanks to the Man of Steel!  Additional features with Congo Bill,  Zatara,  and Vigilante round out the issue.
