Week #7 Winner Announced. Weekly 5 Game Pick ‘Em Week #8 Games Are Ready!
Welcome Back College Football Fans! Every week for the remainder of the 2019 College Football season, you’ll have a chance to win a NEW 2020 Asgard Press Vintage Wall Calendar of your choice. All you have to do is pick who you believe will be the winner of the 5 weekly games featured (below). Each week I will give my take on one game that stands out amongst the 5.
I’ll also add which team I think will win each game as well in case you want to use my expertise as a guide for your picks, HA! Person with the most correct picks THAT HAS MORE WINS THAN ANDY (That’s ME by the way) is our winner and will be announced every Thursday on the blog (If there is a tie, a random drawing will determine the winner). If nobody beats Andy, nobody wins. Don’t be alarmed as Andy is not Jimmy The Greek. A new set of games will be posted every week right up to and including bowl games and the BCS Championship. Lastly, it’s FREE to enter so there ain’t no catch – just some fun to be had and a chance to win.. All picks must be left in the comment section where it says “LEAVE A REPLY” and entered before kickoff of all games to be counted (one entry per person only*) – just scroll all the way down to the very bottom to enter your picks. THAT’S IT!
Before we get to the Week #8 Picks, it’s time to announce the winner of week #7: We had 2 folks who had 3 wins so we had to randomly choose a winner from those 2 and that person is….. Jimmy Parker. CONGRATS JIMMY! I like to make sure our participants win, thus I tanked AGAIN this week and went 1-4. After 7 weeks, my record stands at 27 – 38. Ok, I want to win this week so let’s proceed to my Pick of the Week and Game 1 on the docket… WE ARE INCLUDING THE SPREAD (Not straight up wins-losses) SO CHOOSE WISELY and GOOD LUCK! ANDY’S PICK OF THE WEEK …GAME 1 : #13 Wisconsin (6-1) @ #3 Ohio State (7-0) – 14.5 : Anyone think Wiscy looked past The Fighting Illini last week? Sheez… A close game they should have won instead of tanking before they visit the Shoe for the biggest Big Ten Showdown to date of the season this Saturday. My God, the Buckeyes are averaging 500+ yards and 50 points per game, BUT they really have not had a true test yet (no, Sparty doesn’t count). ON WISCONSIN!! Well, I think they’ll cover.. Andy’s Pick: WISCONSIN
GAME 2: #9 Auburn (6-1) @ #2 LSU (7-0) –11 : Joe Burrow is having a very Heismanny year and LSU at home is going to be VERY tough to beat. When it comes to defense, the teams have given up an average of 319 yards per game for Auburn and 319.4 yards per game for LSU. Wow. The offense isn’t that close and LSU will cover and win. Andy’s Pick: LSU
Game 3: #8 Notre Dame (5-1) @ #19 Michigan (5-2) EVEN ODDS : Did I say the heat was on Harbaugh last week? He’s already looking to get out of dodge for the NFL (although he calls this rumor complete crap) and he won’t get out with a win versus Notre Dame even with the support of a gazillion fans in the Big House. The Irish come off a close victory over USC while the Wolverines won’t recover from a hard fought lost battle at Penn State. Sorry Big Blue. Andy’s Pick: NOTRE DAME
Game 4: Syracuse (3-4) @ FSU (3-4) -10 : The Noles have lost 2 straight. The Cuse are 0-3 in the conference and in sole possession of the ACC Atlantic cellar. Evenly matched on paper. Both gave up 40+ in losses to Clemson. Does anybody really Fear the Spear any more? FSU may win but Orange will cover. Andy’s Pick: SYRACUSE
Game 5: Illinois (3-4) @ Purdue (2-5) -10 : So Illinois has a huge win over highly ranked Wisconsin last week while the Boilermakers lose to Iowa and Purdue is giving away 10 points? They’re averaging a pathetic 59 yards rushing per game and the Illinois defense is stronger against the pass. Andy’s Pick: ILLINOIS
That’s it folks. Be sure to enter your picks in the comment section. One entry per person. See all of our 2020 Vintage Collegiate Football Calendars HERE and all of our Vintage Pop Culture titles HERE. GOOD LUCK in the contest and enjoy another Vintage football weekend!!!
