Welcome to another Wonder Woman Wednesday Vintage DC Fans!

SENSATION COMICS Vol.1, No.19, July 1943; Cover Art: Harry G. Peter; Writer: William Moulton Marston; Penciler: Frank Godwin; Inker: Frank Godwin

Removing an Amazon’s bracelets sends her into a murderous rage fueled by her extraordinary strength, and when that happens, no one is safe from the “human hurricane!” For the first time in comics history, this happens to Wonder Woman in this issue, as Nazi villainess Mavis escapes Reform Island and plans sabotage against the Allies with the aid of a team of US-based spies.

Diana is alerted by a young boy named Bobby Lee that his teacher, Anne Pinky, is having trouble, only to discover that it’s Mavis causing the problem, operating out of a nearby lumber camp in cahoots with Anne’s boyfriend, Leon Dexter. Mavis captures Wonder Woman, but makes the mistake of removing the Amazon’s bracelets, and our heroine’s fury is for the first time unfettered! Her berserker rage lays waste to the Axis agents, and Dexter is revealed to be a double agent working for Naval Intelligence.
